Olive oils

Agents for Juan Ballester Roses, Sucesores S. A., a Catalonian Olive Oil Packer since 1870. Located in the north east corner of Spain near the exciting and vibrant city of Barcelona. This region is famous for its production of the arbequina olive which is crushed and sold as a superior olive oil to enhance other olive oils.

We and our principals, Ballester and Lesieur Cristal are dedicated toward providing the North American Public, yes Canada as well, the very best and properly declared Olive Oils possible. When the NAOOA comes forth with their Seal Program (A program very much like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval) for olive oil we plan to sign up and use it to distinguish our Olive Oil Distribution.

The Food and Drug Administration has just recently allowed us to make the following declaration about Olive Oil:

"Limited and not conclusive scientific evidence suggest that eating about two (2) tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil daily may reduce the risk of coronary heart dicease due to the monounsaturated fat in olive oil. To achieve this possible benefit, olive oil is to replace a smililar amount of saturated fat and not increase the total numbers of calories you eat in a day."

We do not believe there is any other food that the FDA allows such a, albeit qualified, health claim and we are excited about the future possibilities for Extra Virgin Olive Oil in particular.
